SPRING BREAK OPEN TRACK & FIELD MEET

Edmonds District Stadium / Saturday, March 25, 2006 / 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

The best bet for "spring breakers" not in Mazatlan, Palm Beach, or Santa Barbara, we have enjoyed over 6600 entries in our first 16 years, and at least two meet records every year since our inception!
This is an open meet -- send this information to anyone you think is interested! Naturally, we are very supportive of club athletes! We are planning on using electronic timing for all track events! We apologize for not being able to host the 2005 version due to a flooding of the track after completion of a new infield ruined the drainage. We are assured that the completely refurbished Edmonds track does not have those kinds of drainage issues.

SITE

Edmonds District Stadium is located behind Edmonds-Woodway High
School at 76th Avenue West and Southwest 212th Street in Edmonds.
The track has a new surface. You may approach the school from I-5 by taking the exit 279 at 220th (go west off the ramp, proceed about a mile across Highway 99, and turn north (right) onto 76th West. The school and stadium will be on your left). There are satisfactory areas for all field events except hammer throw, which will be held -- pending pre-entry only entries -- at West Seattle Stadium, 35th Ave SW and SW Avalon in West Seattle. We must have indications of three men and three women entrants by Friday, March 10, in order to hold the event.

ENTRIES

We employ a simple process for entries. In the same order as the time schedule below, type your electronic entries. Include each athlete's year in school and each athlete's personal best and season best marks for all events. Entry fees will be $3 per individual with no limit on events pre-registered, or $5 per individual if you wait to pay on meet day. Team entry fees are $50 per team, men and women considered separately. Fees will be increased for day of event payment, regardless of when you enter -- the fee you pay is determined by the date you pay the fee, not the day you enter the meet! Club Northwest members pay nothing to pre-enter, and $3 on the day of the meet.

Send your pre-entries to bill.roe@usatf.org by Wednesday at 5 p.m. before the meet.

SPECIAL EVENT!

A WORLD FIRST was successfully held at the 2004 meet -- the 1-2-3-4-5-6-7 RELAY! We scheduled this in 2003, but only Bill Roe (who was in Switzerland that year) could figure it
out. Our second attempt was a lot of fun, so we'll try it again! At least two runners must be women, one of whom must run a leg 400-meters or longer! Or you can enter standard relays, and we can run them, with the 4x100 at the usual time at the start of the meet, and the 4x400 at the end of the meet. Let us know your preference when you enter!!

VOLUNTEERS

We always need all the help we can get! Volunteers are treated to a post-meet gathering. We hope to avoid it, but we will page for volunteers if we need to keep the meet going!

ADMISSION

An admission charge will be levied for spectators, which will be comparable to the entry fee.
