Regina Joyce moved that the January meeting minutes be approved as amended and it was seconded by Tony Young. Motion passed.
Financial Report: Bill Roe
All of the CNW bank accounts are being moved to Bank of America. There is a check in the amount of $4,737 coming from Martin Rudow for Northwest Runner magazine. Club Northwest continues to remain healthy financially.
Northwest Runner Report: Bill Roe
Martin Rudow fell recently and collapsed a lung. He is currently recuperating at home with double pneumonia. Magazine revenue is way up due to format change with the addition of color.

We have a lot of runners participating in indoor races. Athletes have been selected for CNW sponsorship but we do have some positions open.
The Self-Esteem Through Athletics (SETA) agreement between Club Northwest
and Lance Giles was discussed. Bill Roe
made a motion to accept the agreement in principle and provide transportation
funding for Lance Giles and three athletes to the National Scholastic Meet at

New Business:
Many board members and several invited guests attended a pre-meeting concerning bolstering the CNW team, particularly in track & field. Aretha Thurmond will strongly consider the “Washington Elite” group move to CNW by the outdoor season. Lance Giles had a very strong contingent at the UW meet over the past weekend. Bill took down the notes and will share them with everyone. Members of the board expressed excitement over the developments and potential for the future.

Nominations for the CNW Board member positions opening up were discussed. Those are the #7, #8 and #9 positions, plus the two years remaining on position #6 vacated by Steve Hatzenbeler. Thornton Perry and Phil Finger are declining to run again, but Tony Young would like to continue service.. All of these positions will be open in March at the Annual Meeting. Individuals nominated for consideration were Lance Giles, Becca Gillespy, Regina Joyce, John O’Hearn and Aretha Thurmond. Additional nominations may be made at the meeting. We also have the three-at-large seats to fill if the new Board chooses. Nick Fleming was asked to think about becoming President and Saul Kinderis to think about becoming Vice President. Voting on the nominations will be done at the March, 2007 meeting.
The move to adjourn was made by Phil Finger and seconded by Tony Robinson. The meeting adjourned at 9:15 p.m..
