Financial Report/Bill Roe
Tony
Young respectfully declined the offer to take on the responsibility of being
treasurer for the Club, stating that it would take up to much time, but would
consider it after the racing season. Shelley made a motion for Bill Roe to
assume the duties of Club Treasurer and it was quickly seconded by Regina. We have $1,600. In checking and $600. in savings.
We will have a closed meeting tonight to start the 2004 budget process.
Northwest Runner Report/Brian Oster
- We should have another
good year in sales of Northwest Runner.
- Next month Martin will
have data on the mailing that was mailed out in December.
Events/Pro-Motion/Brian Oster
- Spring Break was March
27th (always the last Sat. in March) 200 athletes, several meet
records. The meet took in about $1,400 With $600.00 in expenses for a net
to Club NW of $800.00
- This years Seattle
International will be held at Husky Stadium June 20th. There
will be free parking, fast runners, and a fun day should be had by
all.
- The final numbers are
in from the Resolution Run. After the rent of hanger 27 of $1,500 and the
park fee of $375. The event brought in just over $900.00 for Club NW.
- All Comers will have
its 2004 debut May 26th.
- Bill is creating the
final version of the 2004 All Comers flyer. Once done it will be
distributed to all high school and middle school track & x-country
coaches in the Northwest. This will be in addition to the regular mass
distribution and e-mail blast.
- Firecracker 5000
update. Brian will most likely have unprinted t-shirts donated as part of
a sponsorship deal. This can save us $2,500 to $3,000, also secured for
free are 1,000 glow-in-the-dark neckbands.
Executive Directors Report/Brad Barquist
- Woman’s Olympic Trials
Marathon was held April 3rd Club Northwest was represented by
Karen Steen placing 51st with a time of 2:47:51 and Angela
French finishing 94th with a time of 3:02:41
- Scott Boothby competed
at the Stanford invitational and threw 217’01” for second place in the
hammer throw.
- Brad has moved all the
Clubs property that was in his apartment to the Club’s office. This
includes Club singlets & t-shirts, Mizuno sweats, Nike equipment bags,
Seattle International & PNTF results, entry forms & other
misculious stuff.
Continuing/New
Business/Membership
- Should have a post card
soon for mailing to Club members so we can get current information on our
Club members.
- Membership would like
to have one group run per week on Thursday. For the first few runs, they
would be at Greenlake, we want to have two Club
Northwest members join the run.
