Club Northwest was founded in 1972
from a number of smaller running clubs in the Seattle area. The
club was instrumental in forming many of the running "staples"
in the Seattle area including the Seafair Torchlight Run, the
Shore Run, the Seattle Marathon, the Super Jock 'n' Jill Half
Marathon, the Terry Fox Run, the Firecracker 5000, the Jingle
Bell Run, and Nordstrom's Beat the Bridge.
Club Northwest continues to be heavily involved in the Pacific
Northwest running community. From putting on the all-comers meet
series established in 1969, to sponsorship of athletes, to
producing the award winning magazine
Northwest Runner.
We hope these pages are a good resource for Club Northwest
members and non-members alike.
