Cross Country Championship season is in full swing. Club Northwest (CNW) fielded 89 runners at the Pacific Northwest Cross Country Championships held November 6 at Lower Woodland Park in Seattle. It was a beautiful, sunny fall day, perfect for racing. All CNW teams were victorious in all age groups, except for the M60 where our friends at Eastside Runners (ESR) again took the title. We have never been able to beat them, but we will keep trying until we do.
Despite all the talented runners at Club Northwest, our most valuable player this season is not even a runner. Saul Kinderis has been providing amazing gourmet food at all of our events. Barbequed chanterelle mushrooms, salmon, sausage and burgers are just some of the items on his menu. Saul’s cooking is a welcome addition to our program and has been instrumental in enhancing the camaraderie of the team. Thanks so much Saul! I hope this is the start of a long tradition.
