Club Northwest Runners Shine at Ft. Steilacoom 15 mile and 15K races
Club Northwest runners won 3 of the 4 races this weekend at the Ft. Steilacoom Resolution run 15K and 15 mile races. Susan Empey and masters runner Paul Abdalla won the 15 mile, while CNW master Mark Van Ecyke won the 15k. Club Northwest master Angela French was 4th overall and 2rd in her age group. Notably, the three winning performances rank among the fastest in state history for the 15 mile/15K distances. Abdalla's time is the fastest masters time in the history of Washington state and is roughly equivalent to a 2:34:36 marathon effort. Empey's time is one of the 10 fastest 15 miles in state history (roughly equivalent to a 2:52:03 marathon effot) while Van Eycke's time puts him on the all-time top 10 list for masters.
