As part of our partnership with Brooks, we have an exciting upcoming opportunity for members to volunteer at the 2018 Special Olympics in Seattle, July 1-6th!
More than 3,000 U.S. athletes will compete in front of 75,000 coaches, friends, family, volunteers and spectators, as well as 500,000 viewers via the Games’ first-ever live broadcast on ESPN.

And as a token of appreciation for signing up to become a Brooks USA Games volunteer, CNW members will receive a raffle ticket to receive a pair of the Levitate 2 in June (not released until September 2018!) as well as a Beast trucker hat or Beast t-shirt for signing up.

How to Sign up
Go to https://www.specialolympicsusagames.org/brooks-volunteers and use the promo code BROOKS2018 to register and become a Brooks USA Games

Please note, the deadline to sign up is January 31, 2018. However, you will be able to adjust your schedule, including adding and deleting shifts, until April 15, 2018.

How long are shifts?
A typical shift is 8 hours, but there are also half day shifts available.

Where are volunteers placed?
Volunteer opportunities include a variety of on and off-the-field positions, such as track and field event support, athletic escorts, finish line assistants, Fit Feet assistants, and Opening Ceremony cheer line.

Can my friends and family outside of Club Northwest sign up?
Yes! Friends and family are encouraged to sign-up along with CNW members. Sign up friends and family under your account by selecting the “Add Another Person” button upon completing your registration. Or, as an alternative, you can share the Brooks code (BROOKS2018) with them and have them sign up at https://www.specialolympicsusagames.org/brooks-volunteers.

Are there any age restrictions for volunteers?
There are volunteer positions open to all ages; however, some shifts are restricted to ages 14 and up.

Anything else?
Volunteers are required to attend a training and we encourage you to attend one of the sessions held at Brooks HQ: Thursday, May 31 and Thursday, June 7. If you cannot attend either of these trainings or if you live outside of Seattle, there are other volunteer orientations and training sessions being offered in the Puget Sound Region (locations and times are listed in the volunteer portal when you sign up). These training sessions allow you to obtain your volunteer uniform kit and credentials. If you are unable to attend any of the training sessions offered, there will be online training tools available. In addition, you will be required to come to the Volunteer Service Center during the Games to pick up your uniform and credential.
