Personal Information

Boyd-Helm grew up loving the sport of running. From an early age he was instantly hooked. Starting in middle school, he ran because he found that when he tried harder than anyone else, he had some measure of success. Ten years later, he finds the same is true, although with some improvements. Boyd-Helm placed 3rd in the 800m at the state meet in Oregon in his senior year of high school, opening a whole new door of possibilities. He attended Southern Oregon University on a small scholarship, where he had success under the coaching of Grier Gatlin. Achieving National Champion Status in the DMR, as well as setting a National record, Boyd-Helm was All-American in both the 4x400m relay as well as runner up in the 800m in the NAIA championships. He hopes to continually grow as a runner, and achieve his lifelong dream of participating in an Olympic games.
