Aric began developing his love for running at Mountlake Terrace High School in 1995 competing in Cross Country and Distance events in Track.  His High School highlights were a PR of 4:32 in the 1600m and 9:50 in the 3200m Races; he also competed at the State Cross Country Championships his senior year in 1996.  Since then Aric has volunteered in track or cross country at Mountlake Terrace High School and Snohomish High School.  More recently, he was the head track coach and Assistant Cross Country coach at Park Place Middle School where he had record turnout during his time coaching there.  He has been the head coach for Snohomish Track Club since then where he has coached a number of All-American youth athletes at a variety of age groups at the USATF Nationals meets.

Aric is happy to be working with Club Northwest now, excited to bring more opportunities to the youth in Snohomish County.  He is currently a Certified USATF Level 1 Coach with plans to further his education in youth development.

Aric’s primary goals when working with youth athletes include:

  1. Having fun even when working hard, his athletes love hills!

  2. Setting and meeting personal goals

  3. Proper body mechanics and core strength training to limit injuries

  4. Effective Training Design so athletes can continue running and improving year after year
