Our Furever Friends

Bridghie, 8, German Wirehaired point. Maisy, 4, Boykin Spaniel

My CNW Human: Moira

Bridghie likes dragging her humans through Discovery Park or patrolling the backyard for squirrels, birds, butterflies, basically anything that moves! Dislikes fireworks and having to go inside. Maisy likes swimming off leash, running off leash, being off leash while her sister has to stay on leash. Dislikes being pet by strangers at the farmer's market and those excruciating first few minutes of a jog.

Bridghie loves running! Her best quirk is when she sees a leash or running shoes she will audibly chatter her teeth in excitement. She also loves being a 55 lb lap dog and will nudge you until you give her the desired attention. Maisy is a little performer! She can roll over, jump through a hula-hoop, and is very clever. Maisy can sometimes be devious and likes to show her sister the weak places in the fence so they can destroy it together. Maisy is the brains and Bridghie is the brawn!

Bridghie will run until she physically cannot. Maisy will run until she gets tired or finds a body of water to swim in. Bridghie has a goal to keep running as hard as she can for as long as she can. Maisy would like to run more off leash and continue to traumatize local bunny populations.

Bridghie's favorite memory is trying to swim across Baker Lake before some humans picked her up in a boat and thwarted her attempt. Maisy's favorite memory is covid hitting which forced her humans to let her sleep next to them everyday.

Boots, 2y8m, Australian Cattle Dog

My CNW Human: Michael

Likes: fetch, running, treats, belly rubs. Dislikes: other dogs, delivery man, garbage trucks, thunder.

Energetic, can go all day whether it’s hiking, running, fetch. Hasn’t met a stranger yet, everyone is his friend as long as we’re at home. Very protective of mom and dad on walks, especially when other dogs are around. He can sit, lay down, shake, touch, stand, stay and look.

My first week in my new home my humans took me on a week long road trip to Lake Tahoe! We camped, hiked, and went to the beach. It was a great beginning to my new life.

Blue, 13, Basset Hound

My CNW Human: Kimber

I enjoy couches, stopping to smell the roses, long naps in the sunshine, wagging my tail, and meeting new friends. I dislike getting wet, fireworks, and when my humans are in different rooms such that I can't be with all of them.

I am very wise. Sometimes I appear laid back, but the truth is that I worry a lot. I worry about everyone everyday. After I eat I suck on my ears to get any kibble dust off of them from when they hang in my bowl. I can sit and shake a paw when I feel like it.

I am quite fast, but I don't compete as I don't want to make others feel slow. I am a fearless cheerleader for CNW and I once was in the newspaper in Eugene for doing such a good job at the marathon.

I don't like to brag, but since you asked, in 2012 I won a ribbon for having the "Best Male Waddle" and the Basset Bash.

Cyrus 8.5 months, Hangin’ Tree Cow Dog/Border Collie; Perseus “Percy,” 4.5 months, Australian Shepherd/Border Collie

My CNW Human: Jules

We enjoy wrestling with each other and nibbling at each other’s faces. I (Cyrus) love to play fetch with a ball nonstop. Percy, my half brother, likes to eat sticks. I hate sirens and loud noises. Percy doesn’t seem to mind them.

I can run and run and run. Percy is more of a couch potato. I’m very strong-willed once I get outside and around other dogs and have the selective hearing of a Border Collie. My brother listens and gets lots of treats. He’s such a little chunk.

I am incredibly fast and agile. My human mom loves to run with me, but she can’t right now. I can’t wait to hit the trails with her again when she’s ready.

When I was about six months old, I got to go visit my mom and dad on the farm. We went to meet my half brother, Percy. He was so tiny I didn’t even realize he was another dog. I had fun running around the farm, but I don’t like farm animals. I am a terrible herding dog for a herding dog.
